Hit that reset button for a brand new week ahead with some wicked new mixtapes in the soca, electronic and bass-heavy roots lanes.
Willy Chin, Jugglin’ Vol. 1: Miami remixologist and general production wizard Willy Chin just launched a brand new mix series for all the ravers out there tuning in. Many of course respect Willy as a member of Black Chiney, and although known for hardcore dancehall juggling mixtapes over the years, we’ve seen a massive influx of soca-infused releases from Willy in the last few years – like his Uh Gosh! series for example – and we’re really not mad at all. This one will get you going straight from the jump with new exclusive remixes and of course the maddest Jugglin’. Stream and download below.
Andre Airplane, Moomraker 4k: Speaking of exclusive remixes, another deejay/ producer that’s been cooking up all different kinds of versions in the dancehall-meets-dance music arena is New York’s Andre Airplane. With an emphasis on the dembow backbone of Moombahton, Andre’s Moomraker series combines dancehall vocals from the likes of Kartel, Alkaline, Popcaan and more with the high energy riffs and drums from the EDM jungle. Strictly exclusives and originals throughout, plus a visual accompaniment you can peep right here. Stream the mix below, download here
Heartical I.D., Heartical Roots Mixtape: Rounding out the week with a nice cross-section of roots and culture vibes from London-based selector Heartical I.D. Fusing elements of underground bass music (as any good London deejay might) if you fancy some extra low end frequencies and wobbles in your reggae then you’ve come to the right place. Plus big tunes from all the brightest stars and up-and comers in modern roots and one drop. Stream and download below, tracklist here.
