Just in time for the weekend, here’s some sounds to help ease your spring into summer from LA-via-Florida DJ/producer Henry Fong out of the Dim Mak Records camp, featuring Nyla (of Brick N Lace and Major Lazer’s “Light it Up” fame) and Mr. “Call Mi a Yardie,” Stylo G.
Fong might be unfamiliar thus far in the Caribbean, but he’s made a name for himself in the dance music world with a sound heavily inspired by reggae and dancehall — see songs like “Wine Dem” and “Drop It Down Low” featuring Richie Loop, which made our playlist of 2016’s best Badman Rave tunes. On “Young Hearts,” Nyla and Stylo G explore the fleeting and fickle nature of youthful attraction, with Nyla lamenting, “If I could fall in love, I’d fall in love with you.”
