LargeUp creative director, photographer and co-founder Martei Korley teams up with some of Jamaica’s top musicians, including the legendary Sly and Robbie, for a new single channeling the classic sounds of Studio One and King Tubby’s.
“Agonizing,” produced by Delroy “Phatta” Pottinger (or, as it’s sometimes styled, “Fatta” with an F) channels the old-school Queen of the Minstrel riddim for a new-age steppers meets classic lovers rock feel. It’s the kind of track that’s sure to put you in a mood on an early summer’s day. Recorded at Kingston’s Anchor and One Pop studios, “Agonizing” features the handiwork of keyboardist Wrongmove and horns from Romeo of the Fab 5 band, along with the classic combo of Sly Dunbar and Robbie Shakespeare on drums and bass.
