This past weekend, The Bronx’s Platinum Kids crossed the border into Canada, representing New York City at World Clash 2017. While Markus Wanted and Paul Platinum ultimately finished third — top honors went to local Toronto favorites King Turbo — it was not for a lack of soundbwoy-slaying dubplates.
The “Gal Dem Sound” have organized their impressive war arsenal into the World Clash Aftermath Dub Mix, featuring a slew of past and present dancehall heavyweights. Opening with the voice of the one Ky-mani Marley, the all-dubplate mix features exclusives from Aidonia, Romain Virgo, Jah Cure, Mavado, Collie Buddz, Freddie McGregor, Spragga Benz, Tarrus Riley, Chronixx, Burro Banton, Lt Stitchie, Bounty Killer, Mr. Lexx and Vybz Kartel, and a whole segment from Johnny Osbourne, chanting down Babylon sound over classic riddims. That’s only a partial list of the big names here; the mix runs a full hour.
