It’s hard to deny the good vibe and feeling that comes over you when a 90s-era R&B or soul tune is bumping in the background — in just about any environment.
This holds true for a brand-new single from Jamaican pop singer Denyque, called “On & On,” dropping tomorrow via Class One Music. Over mid-tempo production from Sean Alaric that includes a soft saxophone melody playfully weaved throughout, Denyque’s delivery evokes a sultry sound reminiscent of ’90s icons SWV and Groove Theory.
“The vibe is my perfect dream,” the Jamaican songstress says. “I’m a 90s R&B baby. So when Sean made me first hear the track, I was immediately smitten and it was all good vibes from there.” This is the second time Denyque and Alaric (whose resume includes work with Toian, Khxos and Fyakin) have teamed for a track. In 2016, they released the single “How Do I Live.”
The song’s video was also directed by Alaric and shot in Miami, and it might have you hoping you hit if off nicely with a stranger in South Beach. Check the video out below, pre-order the single here, and tell us what you think.
