Mixtape Mondays: DJ Sensilover, Faction Sound, DJ Filthy Rich

Words by DJ Arems

We’re only a few weeks into the year but the mixtapes are already runnin hot! This week we find brand new dancehall drops from DJ SensiLover, check out another instalment of Faction Sound on Dancehall Saturday Night and find a masterful 90s Dancehall and Hip Hop mix from DJ Filthy Rich. Bun out all badmind with these heavy selections.

DJ Sensilover, Ball Game: You can depend on Italy’s Sensilover to drop quality mixtapes time after time and the ‘mixtape machine’ doesn’t disappoint with Ball Game. You’ll find this mix laced with the biggest tracks and the freshest riddims touching the streets right now worldwide. Lot’s of positive vibes on this one balanced perfectly with some wicked badman chunes for good measure. This recording was done live but you would never be able to tell if it wasn’t said there on the cover. Sensilover runs this 75 minute mix with ease. Stream and download below:

Faction Sound, Dancehall Saturday Night on Sirius XM: The Faction has been lucky enough to be in regular rotation on the list of guest djs that host Sirius XM Radio’s only dancehall show – Dancehall Saturday Night. Last month the whole crew, including Deejay Theory, Iron Lyon, Tanner and myself formed like Voltron to drop pure fiyah for your head top on the one hour mix show and the result could only be one thing: shellingz. Each member brings their own flavor to their portion of the mix and you’ll find nothing but the latest dancehall and remixes to heat things up in the middle of this freezing winter. Stream below and download below:

DJ Filthy Rich, 90s Reggae Hip Hop Vol 2: The 90s were an amazing time for music and blessed us with the Golden Era of hip hop and dancehall. Toronto’s own DJ Filthy Rich dropped Volume 1 of his 90s Reggae Hip Hop series back in 2016 and the amount of work he put in was very evident. This second edition is no different with Filthy Rich mixing, blending and remixing his way through some well known hits as well as a lot of underground white labels you may not have heard and will be happy to discover. Gun talk was prevalent in early 90’s dancehall and a lot of boom bap rap was the same. The sounds are like no other and the way this is flawlessly mixed will have you nodding your head til your neck snaps. A classic! Stream below:
