Words by Deejay Theory & Ras Jammy
Always seeking out new sounds and colors in the reggae realm, Ras Jammy and his Suns of Dub camp are back with something fresh for you on this Mixtape Monday courtesy of artist/producer Ms. Mavy. The tape showcases all original songs, riddims, edits & remixes composed & produced by Ms Mavy, featuring a wavy mix of roots, reggae, dancehall, dub, hip hop & future sounds cooked in a different style.
Born in the 90’s and inspired by her roots from the French West Indies and Cameroon, Ms Mavy is creating a forward-thinking dancehall/reggae sound. Since 2009, she released 3 mixtapes, along with an EP which picked up heavy rotation on French Caribbean national radio, soon after gaining wide recognition for the release of her unofficial remix of Rihanna’s “Work” (Wuk).
Having signed to Suns of Dub in late 2017, Ms Mavy starts the year with the release of her first official project on the label presented & mixed by Suns of Dub head Ras Jammy.
