Akae Beka, the artist formerly known as Vaughn Benjamin of Midnite, is a candidate for the most prolific reggae artist in the universe. The St. Croix native releases multiple albums virtually every year, and they’re never half-hearted affairs. Rather, 70-minute conversations dense with revelations and cerebral lyricism are the norm for this messenger of truth.
For his latest release, Nurtured Frequency, Akae Beka teams with musician Drew Keys and his Haze Street Studios label, across 11 mind-expanding tracks. (The pair previously worked together on the Livication and Portals albums in 2016.) The album, which you can pre-order here, is out Friday, July 13th via Zojak Worldwide. Ahead of its release, we’ve got an exclusive world premiere of the video for its title track. Well, it’s not exactly a music video per se, but some visual vibes to enhance your listening experience. Watch below, and learn more about Beka/Benjamin in this episode of LargeUp TV.
