Rampage is a pro at finding uplifting music in these times of utter lies and deceit. Put this one on, blaze up di chalice and bun out Babylon. Stream below:
AAA Badboy, Jab Jab Party: Ever heard of Jab Jab? It’s a style of soca that is pure energy out of Grenada. If you’re having trouble staying awake, need to drive somewhere fast or want to get pumped for your next workout, this is the mix for you. Jab Jab masqueraders dance to this extra-driven form of soca in carnivals all over the world and, when you see them, you’d better have something to give them or you might get jabbed with ropes and chains. Jab Jab masqueraders cover themselves in black mud and oil with horns mimicking the devil, scaring on lookers into giving them money, and the feel of the procession has inspired its own music subgenre. AAA Badboy digs up a slew of Jab Jab soca in this mix that is sure to have you jumping for the sky from start to finish. Stream below:
Boom Blast Radio X Rayvon, Episode 23: With the launch of SaveOnRadio.com five months ago, Boom Blast was born. A weekly dancehall, afrobeats, soca and reggae focused show airing 8pm to 10pm PST every Thursday with DJs Rexx, Hoppa, Abel and myself. Every episode is live to air and gets recorded for podcasting purposes, if you happened to miss the show. We finally put together a Mixcloud where all of our shows will be available but we decided to start with one of the best shows we’ve had so far. Episode 23 saw dancehall legend Rayvon roll through for an interview and impromptu performance. Aside from our special guest, much soca, dancehall and reggae was played with a heavy dubplate session at the end of the show. Make sure to tune in on a regular basis or stream old episode below:
