In April, a few weeks before her 79th birthday, Calypso Rose will perform at Coachella, easily one of the world’s top music festivals by anyone’s definition and one at which she is sure to be among the most seasoned performers. The booking is the latest landmark in a brilliant career that continues to evolve and reach new heights more than a half century since she began performing in Trinidad & Tobago.
Before she heads out to Indio, though, the Tobagonian music icon will stretch her lungs with an intimate warm-up show at the eclectic New York City venue (Le) Poisson Rouge, with opening act Kobo Town. We’ll be in attendance, and we’ve got a pair of tickets to give away, courtesy of the World Music Institute.
To enter, either:
-Share this post on Twitter with the hashtag #CalypsoRoseNYC and @largeupdotcom

Of course, if you want to catch the show but don’t like free stuff, you can also buy tickets here.
