Last week, we debuted High Notes, a new video series combining in-studio freestyles with epic smoke sessions and mind-expanding conversation, with the start of an episode featuring Sean Paul and Chi Ching Ching. Episode 1 continues this week with two more installments featuring the dynamic dancehall duo.
Moving on from the subject of sour diesel, the duo discuss their contrasting, yet complementary, approaches to lyricism in the segment entitled โHow We Freestyle.โ
โFreestyling for me is how it all started,โ Sean Paul says, explaining how his approach has evolved over the years. Ching, meanwhile, demonstrates how his aptitude for coining new and fresh slang has informed his creative process, allowing him to make up lyrics on the spot. Together, these two artists, who have toured the world side by side the last two years, make up dancehallโs unlikeliest tag team. Watch them in action here with the DollarVan band, and check back next week for parts 5 and 6 of High Notes Episode 1 with Sean Paul and Chi Ching Ching.
