This generation! Is poised to rule the nation!
Hymn Marley delivers a cinematic lyric video for “Since You’ve Been Gone,” a sun-kissed pop ditty we first heard earlier this year. If you recognize that last name, it’s because Hymn is the grandson of musical icons Bob and Rita Marley, and son of multi-Grammy winner Stephen Marley. And while he maintains some of the beautiful simplicity that is the hallmark of so many of his grandfather’s greatest works, Hymn is doing something that is decidedly different.
“The concept behind the video is like the song — reflective moments on the things we’ve been through,” said Hymn. He added, “LargeUp has premiered my family’s content for years, and I’m happy to keep that tradition going.” Originally born in Jamaica, Hymn now resides in Miami, where the lyric video was also filmed. Produced by Jonathan and David Julca, “Since You’ve Been Gone” is the first single off of Hymn’s debut EP In My Head, scheduled for release this September on the talented youth’s own Hymntertainment label, which is distributed worldwide via the Marley family’s Tuff Gong International.
