Tell us a little about what you are wearing.
My pants are from UNIQLO and my top and shoes are from H&M. This green coat I have is vintage. My watch is from Marc Jacobs and sunglasses from Louis Vuitton. I got my earrings from an accessory shop that I happened to walk into in SoHo many years ago called Tierra. Any time you walk into Tierra you are greeted with a big smile and a handmade flower. Everything is handmade in that store and I fell in love with everything in there. I have a collection of leather earrings from them, but on my latest trip, I was immediately drawn to the burnt orange ones. That’s one of my favorite colors.
I love your color selection with your outfit. Do you tend to gravitate towards earth tones a lot?
Yes. Earth tones and flowers are my favorite things to incorporate into my outfits. I’m also really girly so I love pink and yellow.
How would you describe your style?
Lazy chic. This is pretty much my everyday style. I tend to care more about my face and my hair. I feel like once my face and hair feel proper, everything else just falls into place. What I do is, whatever kind of makeup I’m wearing that day or how my mood is, is how I base my outfit.
What is your favorite piece to wear and why?
My favorite piece to wear depends on the season. Since we are just coming out of the summer, it’s these floral pants. They helped me keep really cool and are extra comfy for hot days. If it’s winter time in NYC, I just love hats and layering. I almost always have a hat on my head no matter what my hair looks like.
Being a professional photographer, how important is your style for your overall image and business?
It’s very important because this field is so saturated. There are so many people that label themselves as professionals but they don’t keep up simple things like appearance. So when I’m meeting with a client, I base my image on what type of client I am meeting with. I won’t completely change my style, but I’ll mold into “Patty’s version” of whatever I need to do. My outfit is a part of my image and brand so I have to keep it up.
