Sevana‘s “Sometime Love” is a breezy summer bop from Jamaica by way of London and, spiritually speaking, Memphis.
Inspired by the bluesy soul of Otis Redding and Percy Sledge, the first lady of Protoje’s In.Digg.Nation Collective recorded “Sometime Love” in London with a team of producers and musical collaborators led by BBC DJ/personality Seani B. Inspired by the track’s subdued mood, photographer Corey Hamilton shot a makeshift video with Sevana underwater during the single’s cover shoot. Watch that here.
You might recall we debuted Sevana’s very first tune, “Bit Too Shy,” back in 2014. She’s since gone on to release an EP, toured Europe with Protoje, and starred in the web series Losing Patience. This month (July 27), she makes her Scandinavian solo debut at Uppsala Festival in Sweden.
“Sometime Love” is one of several upcoming releases dropping through the new partnership of In.Digg.Nation and Delicious Vinyl Island. Next week sees the arrival of Lila Iké‘s rub-a-dub soul vibe “Second Chance,” while August brings “Remember the Days” from Trinidad’s Jimmy October. Tings a gwaan, so check back for those releases and more.
